Creating a true home

At National Star, we believe our long-term living accommodation for adults with disabilities is not just about providing care, it is about creating a true home.

At National Star, we believe our long-term living accommodation for adults with disabilities is not just about providing care, it is about creating a true home.

A place where birthdays are celebrated, friendships are made, and every resident enjoys a fulfilling quality of life.

We have long-term living accommodation in Cheltenham, Hereford, Malvern and Gloucester where residents celebrate milestone birthdays, organise parties and live life to the full.

Hereford long-term living resident Lewis celebrated his thirtieth birthday recently, surrounded by family, friends and some dinky ponies.

Ellie, from our long-term living accommodation, Bradbury Gardens, celebrated her special

day surrounded by her friends and fellow residents with a bus ride!

She shared: ‘It was my 32nd birthday and I’ve loved going out on the bus this year, so I wanted everyone to join me on the bus.

‘We took the bus to a village just outside Cheltenham and had lunch together at The Royal Oak pub, which was nice. Then I wanted to have a party in Christie, my long-term living bungalow, with my friends, so my facilitator Anna made me a quiz all about the staff and residents, and we did pass the parcel.

‘Anna was amazing at arranging it, she did a really good job! I also had a second party with my family and had a hot tub holiday.

Do you have a milestone birthday on the horizon? Why not take on a fundraising challenge or ask for donations instead of gifts, so you can support young adults with disabilities. To find out more, contact our fundraising team today at [email protected]
