Did you know National Star offers respite breaks for young adults with disabilities during college holidays?

Respite guests do not need to be a student, or former student of National Star, to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a short break with us.

Our respite services offer huge benefits to both young adults with disabilities and their families.

Dan’s parents said: ‘Dan is completely happy. Respite has given us, as parents, the confidence to book a short break abroad. It is the first time we have been abroad since our honeymoon.’

Another parent shared: ‘What you do at National Star makes a difference to our son’s life, and gives us a break, and peace of mind.’

Cooking, crafts, walks, swimming and trips to nearby tourist attractions are all offered as part of our respite breaks.

An assessment of need and funding must be completed before each respite stay.

This ensures our experienced team of care and support workers and nurses can fully support the young adults during their stay.

Hazel and Steve, parents of Lewis, a former National Star student said: ‘Our son loves his respite at Ullenwood, he gets to swim, exercise, and have trips out, he really enjoys the experience.’
