With increasing demand for our services and a need for us to invest in specialist equipment and new resources, our charity shops are playing a vital role in the charity’s income generation plans.

Abbeydale, Gloucester is our latest charity shop, with Brockworth near Gloucester and Tewkesbury due to open in 2025!

Each shop supports the local economy, creating job and volunteering opportunities, as well as raising vital income for the charity.

Our charity shops rely upon a diverse range of volunteers, including current and former National Star students. Could you join the team?

In addition to welcoming volunteers, our charity shops offer student work placements. Student Chris, who is blind, wants to run an online business after college. He is building his knowledge of market research and pricing during his placement.

Chris shared: ‘I love coming to the charity shop. I’m learning about a new range of items and starting to understand which items sell faster than others. I feel like part of the team here and I’m always welcomed.’

Another learner, Billy, has grown in confidence and teamwork at his placement and was recently named ‘Volunteer of the Month’ at the Honeybourne, Cheltenham charity shop! Shop Manager Jo praised his dedication and determination to do his very best every week.
