A dedicated group of fundraisers known as ‘The Twin Arrow Golf Society’ is on a mission to raise £50,000 for National Star.
The Society was established in 2009 when their close friend Keith, passed away. The group started their quest with twenty Society members setting their alarm clocks for the Sunrise Walk, followed by their very own Motley Crew performing the Full Monty at their local pub! There will also be people running half marathons, taking part in a sponsored bike ride, the National Star Wing Walk and a fabulous golf day.
On behalf of the group Drena said: ‘We have chosen this very deserving charity because one of our golfers, Stuart, has a son who attended National Star. Stuart couldn’t praise National Star enough and said that the one-on-one specialist education and training gave his son the confidence to realise and develop his skills and since leaving the college he has secured a job that he loves.
‘We were invited to Ullenwood to meet some of the students to see for ourselves the fantastic education provided to youngsters who have a range of different disabilities. After an emotional, enlightening couple of hours we pledged to try and raise a substantial amount for the college to use for any care or equipment that they feel would be of greatest benefit to the students.’
Their passion for supporting National Star reflects their commitment to making a tangible difference in their local community. Together, they aim to make 2025 a year of generosity, community spirit, and meaningful impact.
