Every day, students at National Star enjoy swimming sessions that improve their movement, fitness and wellbeing in a safe, supportive environment.

Our swimming pool offers a vitally important space where young people with disabilities can improve their mobility, build their confidence, and make meaningful progress towards their personal goals.

Students use this pool to strengthen gross motor skills, increase their range of movement, maintain and improve fitness, and learn new swimming techniques. They develop social skills, build friendships and gain transferable skills that help them access community swimming beyond college life.

The water offers freedom of movement, supporting buoyancy, balance and body awareness. Other students use it for sensory regulation and the benefits of both are equally significant.

To ensure these life‑changing experiences can continue, we urgently need to replace the swimming pool roof. If this essential repair is not completed, the pool will close, leaving students without access to a space that plays a crucial role in their development, therapy and independence.

Please help us protect our swimming pool from closure.
