Each resident is supported to achieve maximum independence, and services are tailored to individual needs alongside comprehensive on-going assessments. They are each assigned a key worker, who supports them to decide how they want to spend their time from the options available. These include activities offered as part of the day care, in addition to those that can be accessed locally, such as horse-riding, swimming and work opportunities. When necessary, the key worker will arrange contact with specialist agencies such as the Community Learning Disabilities Team to provide specific support and guidance. All steps are taken to ensure that residents have the opportunity to interact and integrate with the wider community.
The residence, which is split over two floors, provides four bedrooms (one ensuite), two separate bathrooms, a dining room, reception room, laundry room, accessible kitchen and a light and airy lounge that’s perfect for socialising. A large garden at the rear of the property boasts an area ideal for relaxing and the odd summer BBQ. To the best of their ability, everyone has a part to play in running their home, which includes taking a share of any cooking, cleaning, gardening, and shopping as required. Staff are available at the property 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The residence is registered with the Care Quality Commission for personal care without nursing.
