Student accommodation
Student accommodation for National Star residential learners is available at Ullenwood and Cheltenham.
Small residential houses with between 5 to 25 bedrooms make up the accommodation. Most of the bedrooms are ensuite and we also have a small number of self-contained flats. Environmental controls for lighting, doors and curtains are available in some houses. Overhead tracking for hoists is also available.
Students may live in different houses during their three years at college. This helps them to make friends with a wide range of people, preparing them for life after college.
All the houses have large communal areas for socialising, studying and developing life skills. Students work together to plan evening and weekend social activities in their houses. This may include themed food nights, shopping and theatre trips.
Our residential staff are experts at supporting students, often leaving home for the first time in their lives.
We use our years of expertise to match students to the most appropriate house. We make allocations for the next academic year by the end of each summer term.
Before deciding where students live we consider:
- The environment that will suit each student
- Their medical needs (some students need 24-hour nursing care)
- Suitable peer group and staffing needs
