Job description
National Star is looking for a skilled Buildings Compliance Officer to join our busy Site Services Team.
With previous experience of working within an Estates or Facilities team, you will use your technical knowledge to monitor the college’s compliance status, conducting the necessary audits to ensure that we are adhering to all relevant regulations across our sites across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and South Wales. To support this, we would prefer that you have access to transport to be able to travel between sites if necessary.
With a positive and proactive approach to your work, you will use your knowledge of Health and Safety and risk assessments to work with our site services team to ensure that compliance checks are completed and any issues are resolved. This will include making sure that both you and the maintenance team have the relevant training, skills and equipment to perform these tasks in line with Health and Safety regulations.
You will also help us to manage our relationships with a wide range of contractors, ensuring pre-selection checks, permits to work, site induction, safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed. Overseeing our planned maintenance schedule will be a key aspect of your job.
This is a full-time role working 37 hours a week, mostly Monday to Friday but we would ask that you are willing to work to flexible working hours including occasional weekends as required, and provide extra support for special events and snow clearance in the winter.
You may on occasion be required to cover ‘on call’ over evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
