The Head of Therapy will support the growth and development of all therapies delivered at National Star including physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, emotional wellbeing and occupational therapy.
We are looking for someone with excellent clinical skills who has five year’s post qualification experience within healthcare, social care or education. Ideally you will have worked with people with complex disabilities.
The successful candidate will need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others. We’re looking for a collaborative person that can work well with various teams across the charity, contributing ideas and helping colleagues, especially during times of change.
The role will involve quality assurance, ensuring that all therapies are delivered in a highly effective and personalised way to meet the needs of individual learners.
A key aspect of the role will be to ensure that best practice is shared between all the therapy teams. You will also lead on the recruitment of all new therapists.
This role will see the postholder liaising with colleagues, students, parents and carers in relation to the delivery of therapies.
You will also work alongside the recruitment, admissions and assessment team to ensure assessments of prospective students are undertaken in a robust way.
As a leading specialist college, we are required to produce an Ofsted Self-Assessment Report (SAR), which includes the Therapy SAR. It will be your responsibility to produce this important report, working in collaboration with our existing therapy managers.
As this is a new fixed term role (12 months) your responsibilities will be kept under review and may change over time in response to emerging priorities and organisational developments. Being able to juggle competing priorities will be key to this role.
If you are looking for a role that will develop your managerial skills and have a lasting impact on the lives of young adults with disabilities, consider applying for this role today.
