It’s not a given that you will move up the ranks to manager if you join our team. However, many of our Senior Facilitators have secured promotion having joined National Star in more junior roles. Based at our picturesque campus at Ullenwood on the outskirts of Cheltenham, you will be supporting young people with complex disabilities to live their lives to the full.

There is no such thing as a typical student at National Star. They have a range of physical and learning disabilities and different hopes and aspirations for the future. From personalised care to simply being there, you will support the students to pursue their hobbies, learn life skills such as cooking and laundry in their residence and act as a facilitator so they can make the most of their time at college.

Your first-class people skills will help you to lead a team of care workers, working together to provide a high standard of individualised care, promoting and encouraging learners’ personal development. After a comprehensive induction into how we work at National Star, you will be able to work on your own initiative and be able to plan and organise effectively.

We’re anticipating that you will have at least two year’s care experience, ideally with people with a learning and/or physical disability. However it’s not a dealbreaker if your care experience has been working in other care fields and you want to take your career in a different direction. It is likely that you will have a Level 3 in health or social care, or a Level 2 and be willing to study towards your Level 3 qualification on appointment. The post requires shift work, with early shifts starting at 7am and late shifts ending at 10pm and 11pm with alternating weekend working.
