Job description

Are you an innovative and creative teaching professional inspired to use your skills to support people with complex physical and learning disabilities?

National Star is looking to appoint an inspirational Senior Personal Learning Coordinator/Tutor to deliver high quality learning programmes for young people with disabilities as part of a Worcestershire based project with learning focused on community engagement, voluntary employability skills, life skills, maths and English.

With a minimum of 2 years of experience ideally working with students with disabilities in a specialist setting, you will have experience of delivering innovative and person-centred sessions, an understanding of a post 16 curriculum and hold a relevant teaching qualification.

With a sound knowledge of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) you use your skills and experience to contribute to successful achievement of a learner’s outcomes. Your teaching and recording of progress will meet required professional standards and ensure high quality provision for young people with complex learning difficulties. Multi-disciplinary work will be critical in your role so that you can ensure students maximise their learning, boosting their independence and wellbeing to prepare them for life after college.

It goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator, who is proactive and forward-thinking with excellent organisational skills. You will be self-motivated, flexible and adaptable and able to problem solve dynamically. As a National Star Senior PLCT you will model excellent practice in a busy and demanding context and line manage other PLCT’s. You will confidently build positive relationships with students, colleagues and external stakeholders.

This is a full time term time role working 37 hours a week over 40 weeks.  It is a requirement that you have access to transport to be able to travel to our other sites as required.
