About the role

The Speech and Language Therapy team at National Star has a key role in ensuring that students with a wide range of complex physical and learning disabilities gain the skills and confidence to communicate effectively as part of their journey towards living as independently as possible.

We are currently looking for additional support for our team of Specialist Speech and Language Therapists. This role will be based primarily in Ullenwood on the outskirts of Cheltenham, but may require travel to our other sites on Worcester, South Wales and Hereford as required.

You will provide assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapy programmes for learners with complex communication needs, to support their development and learning across all elements of their curriculum, as well as close multidisciplinary working with our Student Technology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Education, Nursing and Residential teams, and external stakeholders such as NHS Specialist AAC hubs and AAC manufacturers/suppliers.

You will demonstrate excellent professional knowledge and experience, underpinned by current evidence based practice; including complex AAC assessment and intervention programmes. You must hold a recognised Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists degree level qualification; and membership of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
