Since moving from a small industrial unit in Hereford just over a year ago, our college for young adults with disabilities now has more than 28 day students, with ambitious plans for the future.
The college relocation provided huge opportunities to upgrade student facilities; a lift for students using wheelchairs, a well-equipped life skills kitchen, specialist therapy and sensory rooms, a computer suite, arts classroom, chill out zones and an expansive outdoor area, complete with a polytunnel, raised planting beds and furniture for students to enjoy lunch and socialising outdoors.
There is a genuine buzz around college as students, including those with physical and learning disabilities, prepare for a life of increased independence.
There’s no such thing as a ‘typical’ National Star student, and we celebrate the diversity of all learners, who bring something vibrant and special to college.
Each student follows a personalised learning programme designed to work towards their future aspirations, with input from a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
Come along on Saturday 12 March between 10am – 2pm and take a tour of our facilities, meet staff, and current students. There will be an opportunity to try out some activities too.
