Coventry Building Society’s secret santa for National Star

Coventry Building Society have taken part in a giant secret santa to help give young people at National Star a special Christmas.

As part of the Society’s CovenTREE promise, National Star students were asked to write down what they wanted for Christmas on a gift tag and hang their wishes on a special CovenTREE.

Gloucester Business Park employees bought the gifts that caught their fancy, in total donating 34 gifts for National Star students. Gift requests included DVDs, lava lamps, toiletries and sensory toys.

‘We have many students, who due to their complex disabilities and health issues, may not be able to spend Christmas at home and so will stay at National Star,’ said Gill Henry, Head of Fundraising at National Star.

‘Thanks to the staff at Coventry Building Society, the students’ Christmas will include some lovely surprises and we are grateful for their support.’

Serena Workman, Mortgage Underwriter at Coventry Building Society, said the National Star appeal really caught employees’ attention and almost everyone wanted to take part.

‘This is the first year that the CovenTREE event has taken place and the support in the office has been overwhelming. We really hope that our gifts help give the students a special Christmas – we certainly enjoyed choosing them.’

National Star is Coventry Building Society’s Gloucester Team’s chosen charity for the second year running.
