Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth visiting National Star in 1991

The National Star community is deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We pay tribute to a lifetime of public service to our nation and offer our condolences to the Royal Family. We were honoured with a visit from Her Majesty in 1991, when it was clear to all of us that The Queen took a genuine interest in the lives of those young people who benefit from spending time at National Star.

National Star’s Student Union have met for the first time for the academic year. Learner Voice is at the heart of National Star and the SU enables students’ voices to be heard. The members felt that it was important that the death of Queen Elizabeth II should be recognised and issued the following statement:

“The National Star Students Union and wider student body would like to pay their utmost respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and loved ones. Her Majesty was a great role model and figurehead to not only those in the United Kingdom, but also those in the Commonwealth and wider world.

“Above all, Her Majesty was an incredibly kind person who never complained about her many responsibilities. May she rest in peace.”
