Ledbury Road shortlisted for Care Home of the Year

National Star’s long-term residence in Hereford has been shortlisted for Care Home of the Year.
Parent Jo Lofting, whose son is a resident at 1 Ledbury Road, nominated National Star for the Herefordshire Health and Care Awards 2022.
Ensuring residents have active and fulfilling lives
“The team go above and beyond to ensure the residents have active and fulfilling lives,” said Jo. “It isn’t a care home, but a real home and it has such a wonderful atmosphere. The team deserve to be recognised for their incredible work.”
Ledbury Road is home to seven young adults with complex disabilities and medical needs. National Star opened the property in December 2019.
The gala finals will be held on 19 October at the Three Counties Hotel, Hereford.
The news comes just a week since Charli Stenner, a Senior Facilitator at Ledbury Road, was named Keyworker of the Year at the BBC Hereford and Worcester Make a Difference Awards.
“The team at Ledbury Road, like all our teams across National Star, always put the needs and wishes of residents and students at the heart of everything they do,” said Lynette Barrett, Chief Executive, National Star. “They are incredible ambassadors for the charity, and we are so proud of them making it to the finals. The fact that they were nominated by a parent demonstrates the strong relationships they have nurtured with those we care for and their families.”
