Our online transition events for 2021

Preparing National Star students for life after college is more important than ever before. This work begins from the moment the young people with complex disabilities begin to be supported by our charity.
Our annual face-to-face transition event was sadly cancelled due to coronavirus, but the exciting news is that we’re planning a series of themed online transition events for 2021.
Exploring hot topics such as long-term living, employment and volunteering and making friends in the community, the events will be open to existing and former students and their parents and carers.
Feedback from parents who attended National Star’s first ever online Parent Support Forum reinforced the view that transition was an important aspect of our support for students and their families.
This year saw National Star retain its matrix Standard accreditation for demonstrating the high quality advice, information and guidance we provide to students with disabilities.
The matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and / or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering. Assessors praised us for our excellent levels of information and guidance support. It was also noted that students interviewed were overwhelmingly positive about their experiences at National Star.
