National Star College celebrate working together with Barking and Dagenham College

We’re pleased to be working with Barking and Dagenham College to deliver the Steps into Work as an Internship programme in London. Steps into Work brings together National Star, GLL (Greenwich Leisure Limited), Barking and Dagenham College and Remploy with a shared goal of developing sustainable pathways into employment for learners with disabilities or health conditions.

The model is designed for learners who have a range of disabilities and whose goal is to enter paid employment at the end of the course. For young people the programme provides the opportunity to access the world of work through developing employability skills in real work placements with the goal of paid employment at the end of the programme. The focus for learners is increasing their independence with a high quality working experience which allows them to gain critical personal and social skills as well as qualifications which are often harder to achieve via classroom based learning.
