National Star gets behind The 2.6 Challenge for UK charities

Many fundraising events across the UK, including those raising money for us, have been cancelled due to COVID-19. In response, National Star is getting behind a new, national campaign to raise funds to help save UK charities.

The campaign, called The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26 April, what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon. Could you dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise for us?

The challenge is open to anyone. All we ask is that challenge participants follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. For example, could you stage a family danceathon for 2.6 hours? Perhaps you could or flip a pancake 26 times or commit to exercising safely for 26 minutes daily for 26 days.

One supporter has already been inspired by Makaton tutor Wendy Allison to learn 26 Makaton concepts as their 2.6 challenge. We’re expecting something wacky from the StarBistro team. The can-do Foundation House residents are planning a collective challenge.

Why don’t you set up a fundraising page and support National Star by getting behind the 2.6 challenge?
