National Star to host recruitment open days
Throughout June 2018 National Star will open its doors to the public for three exciting recruitment open days at its sites in Ullenwood, Hereford and Mamhilad.
The events will give guests a real flavour of what it is like to work for the Gloucestershire-based national charity, and provide the opportunity to explore current vacancies. Representatives from different areas of the organisation will be on hand to answer questions and discuss specific roles, while a tour of the sites will showcase National Star’s specialist facilities.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend a pre-application meeting, complete an application and sign up to receive emails about new vacancies. The open days are suitable for individuals actively looking for their next role and those who may just be curious about our opportunities.

National Star works in partnership with over 900 staff across England and Wales. Roles are diverse, and range from those in care and teaching to hospitality, fundraising, office support and facilities and estates. Depending on the role, we have part-time, full-time, all-year and term time opportunities. Earlier this year National Star become the first college in the country, since the change in Ofsted inspections, to hold ‘outstanding’ ratings for both its care and education. In 2016 National Star received the Princess Royal Training Award for the blended learning approach of its innovative staff induction programme.
Rachel Burke, Head of Human Resources at National Star, said: ‘Working at National Star is more than a job. We’d encourage anyone who has wondered about a career with us to come to the open day to find out more – even if you’ve only just started thinking about your next role.’
At National Star we are driven by our vision for a world in which people with disabilities are able to realise their potential as equal and active citizens in control of their lives. This sits at the heart of everything we do, from the personalised and world-class learning we provide via National Star College to training, social enterprises, specialist services and our work in the wider community.
