National Star’s Mardi Gras Star Ball has the wow factor

Brazilian carnival dancers and a samba band made sure that our Star Ball had a real wow factor!
Many of our 350 guests dressed up in the theme of the Mardi Gras with a plethora of feathers, beads and masks.
The evening, held at our campus in Ullenwood, near Cheltenham, was sponsored by Crowe Clark Whitehill, Savills, RE Resource Group, Safe Hands Recruitment, Abbey Business Equipment, the Royal Oak and D’Arcy wines.
The Star Ball raised more than £40,000, enabling us to continue supporting people with physical and learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries.
The most popular auction prizes were a Cornish Cottage getaway – which sold for £3,100 – and a signed Pele Brazil shirt that sold for £2,500. Following the auction, many of the guests danced the night away to the live music of Dancin’ Easy, with carnival themed interpretations of some classic dance floor fillers.
‘Our Star Ball raised a record amount this year. We thank all those who attended and supported this, our most important fundraiser of the year,’ said Kate Green, Director of Fundraising at National Star.
