Super saplings support sustainability
Trees are important for people, wildlife and the environment. That’s why National Star has plans to plant more trees at Ullenwood and to plant a new orchard of fruit trees at Wessington Court Farm, part of National Star in Hereford.
After a successful application to the Woodland Trust we are set to receive 420 saplings in March. The saplings, tp be planted around the Ullenwood campus will be a collection of rowan, silver birch, wild cherry, common oak, field maple and grey willow, which when fully grown will cover an area the size of a football pitch.
The saplings will be planted to enhance the existing rural landscape at Ullenwood and encourage wildlife which students, staff and visitors alike can enjoy.
In Hereford a small orchard of fruit trees, donated by the Tree Council, will be planted by students, in support of their horticultural studies.
Being responsible, sustainable and ethical to leave a better environment for future generations is something we are passionate about at National Star. We are currently working towards achieving the Gold level Green Impact Award. Discover more about our commitment to sustainability.
