StarBistro’s Incr-edibles joins Cheltenham Food and Drink Festival

National Star’s StarBistro will be tempting visitors at this year’s Cheltenham Food and Drink Festival (10 – 12 June 2016) with a mouth-watering cookery demonstration.

The StarBistro Incr-edibles demonstration, taking place on Friday 10 June at 12.30pm, will be led by Head Chef Matt Black and learners from National Star College. Foodies will be able to learn how we create our delicious and award-winning Star Pimms Summer Jelly, and will even have the opportunity to taste it. The recipe was created by learners at National Star College in 2013 for the cookery programme Food Glorious Food, with its fresh flavours earning it second place in the competition.

Assisting Matt will be two catering learners, Billie Davis and Josh Richings. The pair have been developing their catering and hospitality skills in our award-winning StarBistros. They both are working towards gaining a recognised hospitality qualification with the aim of securing employment in the sector after college. Josh, who can’t wait to demonstrate what he’s learnt before a live audience said, ‘This is a great opportunity. At the end of the demonstration you will be able to sample some of our delicious jelly. Come and join us!’
