International GAP study programmes

National Star have been working with students with disabilities from Germany to improve their work skills English language skills with UK employers. In 2014 three learners undertook a six week work placement programme. In National Star will host two students from Vinzenz Heim College in Aachen for another International Work Study programme.

January 2014 – May 2016 – Professional development partnership – Greece

National Star is working with a vocational training and employment college in Thessaloniki in Greece to share practice in the delivery and assessment of vocational and employment training. 36 staff and 40 students will visit National Star over two years and take part in work based learning and professional development activities alongside staff and student from National Star.

June 2014 – 2015 Connecting Classrooms – Lebanon

A new British Council Connecting Classrooms partnership with Zebdine Public School in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon was established in June 2014. Visits to National Star by head teacher Khalil Zurhi and a visit to Lebanon by David Finch Director of International Development at National Star have developed programme of curriculum activities. Jane Griffiths, Project Manager at National Star is leading the partnership in 2015.
