Study

A Star Bistro trainee receiving training in the kitchen

National Star has expertise in designing and delivering specialist programmes of study for international learners with disabilities.

Learners can undertake a wide variety of vocational and work related programmes – ranging from Entry Level to Level 3 – as well as life skills and learning English as a foreign language. Work placements with local employers are an integral part of our vocational programmes.

At National Star, learners will have a choice of accommodation, high quality care and medical support should it be needed. They will also receive learning and mentoring support for their programme of study.

An integrated study experience

We offer learners with disabilities the opportunity to live and study in the UK as part of their current study programme. The six week integrated study course enables them to take qualifications in English language, and develop their life and vocational skills. In addition, learners have the opportunity to enjoy the leisure and cultural activities offered at Ullenwood campus in the evenings and weekends. Click here to find out more.

A transition to employment programme

This six-week work placement programme enables international learners to live in the UK and gain valuable employment skills and experience. This may be part of their main programme, or following a vocational programme. During their time with us, learners will be working alongside a job mentor with a profile company and developing their employment skills. In addition, learners are able to take qualifications in English language and access a wide range of leisure and cultural activities while they reside at National Star College’s Ullenwood campus. Click here to find out more.
