A Star Bistro trainee receiving training in the kitchen

National Star welcomes working in partnership with other organisations in order to benefit people with disabilities.

We massively appreciate the support we get from employers to provide learners with real work opportunities. Our Supported Internship programmes are based with well established employers that include EDF Energy in Barnwood and GLL in London. Local employers play a key part in many programmes by providing opportunities to gain work experience and social interaction skills.

Our links with local General Further Education colleges are also vital to the success of our Supported Internship programmes. We’re proud to work in partnership with both Burton and South Derby College and Barking and Dagenham College.

In addition, we work alongside local authorities. Current projects include independent travel training in Gloucestershire and the New Horizons programme in Herefordshire. We are also working closely with social services in South East Wales on a transition housing project.

Other partners include housing associations, job placement specialists,  IT and software developers and specialist colleges.
