Nurse Helen says it’s the flexibility and freedom of golf that motivates her to play the sport.

Helen, a member of the StarGolf course in the Cotswolds just outside Cheltenham, says she often fits in a round before or after work as a great way to unwind.

‘My job can be stressful and so what better way to relax than in the fresh air, in beautiful surroundings, close to nature,’ said Helen.

‘Although golf can be quite a hard game to master as a beginner, with lots of things to think about, it soon gets easier over time. It’s also a sport that you can play on your own and with others, which fits in with my work commitments.

‘I was itching to get back to golf when courses re-opened after lockdown and I love playing at StarGolf, it’s such a friendly, welcoming course for players of all abilities. We’re seeing many more women players signing up as members too.’
