Erasmus + Greek partnership

National Star College is currently working in partnership with Protypi Viotechniki Monada Lakkias, a vocational training college for young Greek students with learning difficulties in Thessaloniki, Greece. The project provides two-week work-based training placements for students in the UK, and research and good practice sharing seminars for teachers. There are six visits planned in March, April, June and November 2015, and March and May 2016. During each visit six teachers, eight learners and three support staff undertake a specially-designed programme of activities that aim to improve their knowledge, skills and use of practical English, and develop cultural awareness.

Learners are timetabled to work in college enterprise activities alongside full-time students. They learn specific vocational and work skills. Teachers receive seminars from multi-disciplinary teams who can increase their knowledge of effective working practices and are able to share in their professional development.

A visit to Queen Alexandra College to compare working approaches as well as visits to cultural sites in London, Bath and Gloucester, gives both teachers and learners a holistic learning experience.

Lifelong Learning ProgrammeThe programme is funded by the Euroepan Lifelong Learning Erasmus + programme.
