Blackpool adventure anyone?

With the UK enjoying a summer heatwave, Dan and Joe headed to the seaside resort for a holiday packed with fun, laughter and new memories.

This term marks the final chapter of their time at National Star, and what better way to celebrate the end of an era than with a weekend of sunshine, friendship and laughter?

The trip included visits to Showtown, Blackpool’s interactive museum, and Blackpool Tower Circus. Joe’s favourite part of the circus show was the resident clown, Mooky, whose cheeky antics and hilarious performances kept him laughing throughout. Dan was captivated by the incredible hair-hanging acrobats, who performed breathtaking aerial routines above a spectacular water show.

The fun continued at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, where Dan and Joe thoroughly enjoyed posing for photographs alongside their favourite wax figures. There were smiles throughout the attraction as the group met famous faces from sport, music, television and film. One particularly memorable moment came when Claire received an unexpected fright catching fellow facilitator, Georgia, hiding amongst the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! lineup, creating another moment of laughter for everyone to share.

Dan shared: ‘It was amazing, going to sleep after a long walk around the sea. I especially enjoyed the circus and Madame Tussauds’.

When asked about the weekend, Joe shared: ‘It was absolutely amazing! It was the best weekend!’

The trip was a fantastic example of the experiences available to our students as they develop independence, confidence and social skills. And the fun didn’t stop there. While they were away, they took part in a fancy dress competition. Joe dressed up as David Attenborough and Dan as a magician, and they took home the winning prize of another weekend in Blackpool!

This trip has created memories that will stay with Dan and Joe long after they leave National Star and we can’t wait to hear all about what they get up to next.
