We are pleased to announce the appointment of Aubrey Nkata as Director of Clinical Services for National Star.

Aubrey has been working as our Head of Therapy since March 2024, bringing a wealth of strategic and professional expertise to the charity. During his time at National Star, Aubrey has played a key role in the development and launch of our service delivery pilot, helping to shape a more flexible and responsive approach to supporting students and their holistic outcomes, while ensuring we continue to meet our contractual obligations.

In his new role, Aubrey will join National Star’s Leadership Team and become the organisational lead for all clinical, therapeutic and health-related services across the charity.

As Director of Clinical Services, Aubrey will champion integrated, interdisciplinary practice and ensure alignment with statutory responsibilities, alongside relevant regulatory and professional standards. His appointment reflects National Star’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support for young people with disabilities and complex needs.

Aubrey will report to Sarah Broadhurst, Executive Director for Growth, and will work closely with fellow Directors of Services, Meg Rogers, Zoe Barnett, Jojo Kingsbury-Elia and John Mann.

Speaking about his appointment, Aubrey said: ‘I’m excited to take on this role. Since joining, I’ve seen the dedication, expertise, and commitment across our service delivery teams, including Therapy and Nursing, in achieving meaningful outcomes for learners.

This is an opportunity to build on strong foundations, developing clinically robust, intentionally integrated services into our learners’ college lives in a way that’s responsive, student-centred and aligned with National Star’s vision for our learners.’

Lynette Barrett, Chief Executive, said: ‘At National Star, care, therapies, and education teams work together to support the young people we work with. A growing number of students have complex needs and for them that multi-disciplinary working becomes even more critical.’

‘Aubrey will champion integrated, interdisciplinary practice and enable the charity to further build on our services to the young people we support. He brings a wealth of strategic and professional expertise to the charity.’
