Snow update – 8 and 9 January 2026

Weather update: Amber and Yellow Snow Warning

Thursday 8 January and Friday 9 January 2026

Due to the amber and yellow snow weather warning, National Star has reviewed conditions and agreed the following arrangements across our sites. The safety of our students, residents and staff remains our priority.

Ullenwood

Day students

• Students will be collected from 3pm today (Thursday 8 January).
• Students will not be on campus tomorrow (Friday 9 January).

Residential students

• Residential students will remain on campus.
• There will be a later start tomorrow (Friday 9 January).
• A decision on the curriculum will be made in the morning following an assessment of conditions. At present, we are assuming a normal day, subject to review.

Community learning

• All sessions are cancelled tomorrow (Friday 9 January).

Green Steps

• Green Steps will be running as usual tomorrow (Friday 9 January), with all students expected to attend.

Hereford

• Students will not be on campus tomorrow (Friday 9 January).

Wales

• Students will be collected from 2pm today (Thursday 8 January).
• Students will not be on campus tomorrow (Friday 9 January).

Worcester

• Students will not be on campus tomorrow (Friday 9 January).

Staff update – Ullenwood

• All staff are required to attend work in line with their scheduled hours
• all staff minibuses will continue to run as normal
• if you are unable to travel to your usual place of work, please make your way to one of the following locations:
  • Bradbury Gardens (Cheltenham)
  • Green Steps (Francis Close Hall Campus, University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham)
  • Foundation House (Gloucester)
    From these locations, we will operate a shuttle service for staff.
• Staff induction scheduled for tomorrow (Friday 9 January) is cancelled.
