Lotto luck for Alison
Alison Andrews couldn’t believe her luck when she won an incredible £1,000 prize playing National Star’s lottery.
Alison signed up to the lottery in 2019 when she joined National Star as a medication administration assistant at Elizabeth House, our student accommodation in Gloucester. Her win came just one week after she had retired earlier this year.
‘It was such a shock as I wasn’t expecting to win anything. It was a very happy farewell surprise!’ said Alison.
‘In the same week I received my cheque I also had an unexpected boiler breakdown, but there’s plenty left for a good haircut as soon as the lockdown is over!’
Every week members have the chance to win a £25,000 jackpot, plus many other fantastic cash prizes. For every £1 entry, at least 50p comes directly to National Star, ensuring that future generations of young people with complex disabilities will get the opportunities and support they need.
‘It’s a very cheap and easy way to support National Star and I will continue to play. I encourage everyone else to do the same – if I can win, anyone can.’
