Bag a bargain at National Star’s charity shop

National Star’s new charity shop has opened its doors in Gloucester.

Located at 35 Hucclecote Road and open Monday to Saturday, the shop sells a range of donated and student–made goods.

Due to coronavirus, opportunities for National Star students to develop skills for employment outside college have dwindled. But the launch of the charity shop’s eBay book page has enabled learners to get involved virtually, managing the listing and selling of items.

In the future, students will be able to hone their customer service skills in the shop, completing duties that include meeting and greeting customers, stocking the shelves and serving on the till. This will give them the confidence and experience they need to prepare for the world of work after college.

‘This is a great way to raise awareness of all that we do and bring in vital income for our charity,’ said Val Hammond, Charity Retail Operations Manager.

‘Pay us a visit and let us know about the fab bargains you picked up by using the hashtag #MyStarFind on social media!’
