Meet Roxanne, Hereford Facilitator
Hereford Facilitator Roxanne turned to a job in care after a spell working in retail. Initially gaining experience helping people with disabilities in the community it was her husband who found her current job online.
What attracted you to National Star?
‘I am not always good at recognising what I’m good at but when my husband spotted the job advert he said it was me on a piece of paper!’ said the mum of two.
Born and bred in Hereford, Roxanne, who has a degree in performing arts and drama, loves the fact that no day is the same at National Star.
Variety is the spice of life
‘Every day I have so much fun. I love using my performing arts background and sense of humour to build a rapport with students.
‘My job is so varied. We work as a team to support the students and it’s so rewarding to see how much they develop by the time they leave college,’ added Roxanne.
From sensory exploration sessions through to preparing students for a performance and helping improve their road awareness skills, Roxanne knows she’s making a difference.
‘I’m excited about what the future may hold for me at National Star and am looking forward to seeing the provision in Hereford go from strength to strength. It’s a great time to part of the team.’
