StarTraining offers a range of City & Guilds accredited courses for people who wish to train to teach in FE and beyond. Many of the courses are run on a part-time basis and taught in the evenings to fit in with your current work schedules.
FE institutions and training organisations that have utilised the skills and expertise of National Star’s Teacher Education team include the Royal National College for the Blind, Clarkson Evans, Activate College Kirby, Sense College, MyLife Learning and Gloucestershire Engineering Training to name but a few.

Teaching qualifications
City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) | L3 AET
This is a knowledge-based introduction to teaching and/or training which has no teaching/training practice element. As a result it is suitable for learners who are not currently in a teaching role, as well as those that are.

City & Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (QCF) | L4 CET
This is a first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching / training practice requirement. It is an ‘in service’ qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers or trainers in England.

City & Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (QCF) | L5 DiT
The ultimate teacher education course for the Further Education and Skills (FES) sector. The course is delivered part-time one evening a week, over two years at our Ullenwood campus (both face to face and virtual sessions). The diploma provides the knowledge, understanding and skills required to become a teacher and the work towards Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS) should they meet the required criteria and have been certificated for the L5 DiT.
